I am using Able Commerce. I don't know whats in the code.
So until I find the problem I guess we will just wait and see what
files/tables etc are causing it.

Now that Doug told me how to set up the CF Admin maybe I can get some real
data to work with.

you should look at any external systems that cf is interacting with,
including dns.  if you are making cfhttp calls, cf will need to
resolve the domains prior too fetching the pages.  during startup,
none of those dns name resolutions will be cached so the problem might
appear to be worse.

other external systems might include cfpop calls, database calls,
filesystem calls, etc.

if any of these calls slow down substantially, cf may start queueing
requests and if it happens long enough cf starts spending a lot of
energy managing the queue of requests and less on processing them,
causing a downward spiral to server death...
