Hi Brian,
The default for "title.margin.left" is -4pc, so your titles start further to
the left than your text. You can just move them in by setting
"title.margin.left" to zero.
cheers,

Hi Joachim,
I'm using xrefs between sections of a large book, and while I get validation
errors for the individual sections because of the missing linkends, I have
no problem transforming sections individually with the current stylesheets
and Xalan - the broken links are just ignored and "???" is
Hi Scott,
You can specify colours for individual table cells in HTML/HTML Help output
using the entry-bgcolor processing instruction. Just put this in the
appropriate table :
I don't know is there anything similar for FO, though.
cheers,

Hi folks,
I've been using the latest Java version of Xalan to produce my HTML Help
output using the 1.60.0 stylesheets, and it's currently working fine.
However, one of my colleagues just tried to use Xalan C++ with the same
DocBook source and stylesheets, and got a "Don't know how to chunk with..
Now this *is* peculiar. I tried altering my entities file as you suggest -
declaring the entities relative to the location of the entities file, which
actually makes much more sense, and is much more useful for reusing the
entities file! Them I ran xmllint --debug on an individual document, and

Hi Bob,
No, I'm xincluding the documents that themselves incorporate additional
material using system entities. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
They're xincluded as follows in the master document:
http://www.w3.org/2001/XInclude";
href="mydocument1.xml"/>
http://www.w3.org/2001/XInclude";

Hi,
Investigation has continued! I tried validating the document with xmllint
and got the same problems (looking for the file a level above its actual
location), so the issue isn't with Elliotte's XIncluder app.
What does seem to be causing trouble is where the entities are declared.
Currently,
Hi list,
I have a number of existing docbook documents, and was hoping to use
xinclude to join them together into a larger book as described in Bob's
helpful guide. Each of the documents includes some external files as system
entities.
When I used Elliotte Rusty Harold's xinclude java app to try
Hi folks,
I want to use different graphic formats for print and html output, and was hoping that
I could deal with this in the relevant stylesheets using the default.graphic.extension
parameter, as in the following example:
In the document itself, the imagedata's fileref has no extension spec
links.
Anyway, I found a previously posted stylesheet for somebody who wanted page
numbers to appear in the TOC for chapters. This was caused by the same FOP
issue, and using it fixed all my broken links. I can repost it if anyone is
similarly afflicted!

Which XSLT processor are you using? What errors, if any, do you see from
your XSLT processor and FOP?

Hi Jeff,
I'm just making a single big PDF - I thought xref would work fine, but it
isn't doing what it's supposed to.
H. Must poke at it some more.

Hi folks,
I have quite a large book broken up into chapters, each of which is a
separate xml file. The book file just uses entities to tie them all
together. Anyway, I want to add some links between chapters - "You can find
out more about x here" sort of thing - and am wondering how best to do it
Hi folks,
I'm having great difficulty in getting a page break to appear after the TOC
using FOP (I can get page breaks to appear before all sect1s, thus creating
a break after the TOC, but that makes the rest of my document look
peculiar). Has anyone got a nifty way of doing this?
thanks,
Lisa
Hi folks,
I'm trying to work out something whereby images in my document are always
kept on the same page as the preceding block of text. The FO
keep-with-previous doesn't seem to be doing anything with FOP - does anyone
have a neat solution, preferably something that can go into my stylesheet
