Hi :)
I have a bad feeling that i never got around to using that email thread to
create a wiki-page about getting started with ODFAuthors. Is there a wiki-page
that helps new people?

You are right. There are no instructions for how to use the
ODFAuthors web site. It probably should be written. For English, the OOo
section of ODFAuthors contains the information as it applies to OOo and
could be applied to the LO section as well.

Hi :)
I keep letting the team down quite badly but you all seem to manage really well
and get some great stuff done. You might even get a few things completed
before Jean gets back at this rate :)
Congrats, apols and regards from
Tom :)

I don't have the background of writing/editing that most contributors have.

There is a fairly advanced question about that in the Users List right now.

In the User Guide section of this wiki page, I have added instructions
on how to use the ODFAuthors website for uploading and downloading
files. I left the instructions for using Alfresco intact below it.

Hi :)
Don't worry. The question got answered already. The documentation process
deliberately separates the detailed work from the proof-reading so that someone
competent does check every document at some stage. Sometimes that might be
before you make sure the wording is adequately good
Dan!
You are a total star! Many thanks :)
