I'm paying 12.39p/kWh at the moment, which I think is quite good, so that makes it 29 / 1,000 * 24 * 365 * 12.39 / 100 = £31.475556 a year Not bad. Out of interest, the Crucial MX100 SSD is about 3.4W under load, 100mW slumbering. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8066/crucial-mx100-256gb-512gb-review/8 But you'd need something low-power *with* SSD to hook it up to, so not Raspberry Pi, Pandaboard ES, BeagleBone Black, ...
