This is what the hiring manager told me
This team is mainly supporting Fraud application at the bank
They are transistioning to Hadoop. So people are running dual roles doing
ETL , Java or NET development in conjunction with Hadoop as they are moving
towards a full Hadoop environment
He is looking for someone that is either a *Sr Hadoop Engineer or Lead
Engineer* who can help mentor people on this team.
Many people are employee’s of barclays who have been trained or learning
Hadoop and are relativily new to it
This person will be coding 80% of the time
The other 20% would be mentoring the other developers, doing code review,
could lead a project or 2
Ideally he wants someone that has experience with another technology such
as Java, NET or Oracle PL/SQL
This person should have implementation experience with Hadoop and just not
day to day production support.
Finally this person should have excellent communication skills and AGILE
experience
*MUST HAVE SPARK Experience *
Strong knowledge of Hadoop and its ecosystem components like MapReduce,
Hive, Sqoop, Flume, etc.,
Knowledge of HBase.
*Strong Knowledge of Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, Python*
Deep knowledge and understanding of Hadoop Architecture
Hands on experience on Cloudera is preferred
