*Job Description:*

-SQL Server Database Administrator, Level 4
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (i.e., more important and/or more
frequently performed duties & responsibilities):
Display strong inter-personal and communication skills.
Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other
team members.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems.
Provide advanced technical support for database related project activities.
Build and modify systems to meet project and user requirements. Secondary
Duties and Responsibilities (i.e., less important and/or less frequently
performed duties & responsibilities):
Participate in design and code reviews.
Provide mentoring to fellow administrators.
Evaluate database and software requirements and influence design decisions.
Configure and tune databases and operating system software to ensure optimum
performance and resource utilization.



*Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:*

-Functional/Technical Skills (Specify any functional, technical or
industry-related skills, knowledge or abilities needed for this position –
Note: do not include GMC values or general “soft skill” behavioral
competencies e.g., communication, decision-making, customer focus, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of most SQL utilities such as BCP, DTS, SSIS, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and ability to write stored procedures, UDFs
and triggers.
• Advanced knowledge of debugging and performance tuning stored procedures,
UDFs and triggers.
• Advanced knowledge of index analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of various monitoring and tuning tools such as
Profiler, Spotlight.
• Advanced knowledge of advanced installation and configuration procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of data normalization.
• Proven competence with partitioning advanced queuing, cursors, etc.
• Working knowledge of hardware, including RAID, multi-processor
architecture, etc.
• Working knowledge of VBScript and advanced DTS, SSIS package design.
• Working knowledge of networking and how it relates to SQL Server
connectivity.
• Working knowledge of at least one high level programming language (VB, C#,
C++)
• Ability to create tools from scratch needed for database administration.
• Advanced knowledge of shell scripting (i.e. command line applications,
batch files, etc.)
Experience (Specify relevant work experience(s) required for this position –
indicate such factors as number of years, breadth of experience, work
environment, industry, function, or management-related experiences where
applicable.)
*Three to seven years experience in a large SQL 2000 and 2005 environment.*
Solid experience with Windows 2000 and 2003 operating system.

Education/Vocational Training (Specify any educational and/or vocational
requirements for this position e.g., areas of specialty, degrees/
certifications/licenses.)
A four year degree in computer science or equivalent experience.



*Preferred skills:*

• Experience in SQL 2008; Multi-node Clusters



Shift / scheduled hours:-M-F - 8-5

-We need a sharp SQL DBA to hit the floor running to monitor our operational
portion of the Enterprise SQL DBA team. This SQL DBA will be responsible for
handling any outages, performance problems, customers’ requests and any
other tasks. This will be a hands-on position with lots of interaction with
the team and customers
