*Looking for IT Database II * Location: Salem , Oregon 97301 Duration: *minimum of 6 months up to multiple years.* *The individual must have DB2 experience and be able to work with IBM iSeries and DB2 database.* Agencies' older/current core system (is being replaced by Gentax) is *an IBM iSeries with a DB2 database.* The iSeries will eventually be gone however not for several more years. *The position consists of a variety of duties which include but are not limited to:* -Develop and manage relational databases. Databases may be multiple and distributed databases. -Maintain relational integrity of Agency databases. *To include, but not limited to constraints, linked tables and consistency.* -Analyze, identity corrupt or problematic data issues for mission critical system; evaluate and execute actions to resolve errors as needed. -*Make recommendations on performance tuning, considering the cost, specifications, and organizational policies on expansion*. -Respond to system crashes that are critical to DOR and other State agencies. Solve problems which may requirea high level of coordination with other IS staff and vendors. Provide conflict resolution and negotiate a resolution process. *-Use physical data models to implement and maintain physical databases.* -*Interpret and enforce data management process and procedures.* -Coordinate installation *of vendor-developed and DOR built software*. In some cases*, new installation of software may impact systems external to DOR.* -Ensure version compatibility between new releases of supported business application data and current operating environments. -Contact multiple vendors regarding data-related problems and resolve or escalates problems as needed; coordinate with vendors, external agencies, customers and IS to schedule resources to implement solutions. -*Provide technical assistance, develop and deliver formal training to customers, developers, project managers and system analysts.* -Perform business analysis and requirements-gathering that will automate current, new or changing/re-engineered business processes. Responsible for overall development, performance and maintenance of physical models of relational databases -Consider system features, configuration, and compatibility for performance issues.
