The successful candidate will be able to understand the business needs, perform technical analysis, design and implement robust technical solutions that keeps with the established standards, and perform thorough unit and integration testing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with the business users and become a key member of the development team. Technically, the candidate will have an excellent understanding of relational database concepts, development and performance tuning, with a strong background in either SQL Server or Sybase. Unix experience in scripting and Perl development will be very favorable. Experience in report writing, ideally using crystal, would be desirable. The successful candidate will also have had experience working in the Investment Banking arena. They should have a good background in equity and fixed income products and, ideally, good knowledge of the securities lending business in particular. The role will involve interaction with other members of the development IT team, business analysts, QA specialists, and various other IT teams. The candidate should therefore enjoy working within a focused multi-discipline team and be motivated to contribute fully to the wider success of the team. *Necessary Skills: * At least 5 years industry experience in financial services. Strong analytical skills At least 5 years experience doing application development and working with relational databases. Project lifecycle experience: delivery on at least 1 large scale, highly complex projects. Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills. Experience with Sybase, Transact-SQL and Unix Perl scripting. Must be able to write database query and create reports in Transact-SQL.
