Hi Stirling,
I have solved the problem - after removing all the knobs, dials and the
meter the black escutcheon plate can be removed, the trick here is that at
the right-hand end behind the escutcheon there is a sticky strip that holds
it in place. To separate the panel from the sticky carefully
I have a few items which may be of interest to some of you. I ran across
them while searching for a crystal calibrator. The calibrator was found
and is, for now, promised to Bill, KG4KKI. However, I had three (3)
crystals cut for 1ØØ kHz...One is in the calibrator and the other two were

I find that the cinch jones connector male pins on
the back of the transceivers get really waxy and make intermittent contact
over time. I use some isoproyl alcohol on a Q-tip on the male blades, then
use de-oxit, plug in and out about 10 times.that's it. The last time a

Did someone modify one of the power supplies and
install a relay in it so the on/off switch controls it rather then
the primary of the transformer? If so, they would not be neccessarily
compatible depending on the voltage relay used in the mod.

I've decided to "settle" on just finding a crystal and building one for my 2B. Looking for suggestions for a good source for the crystal.

It should, it is a compatible supply for all the Drake transceivers.
Check the fuse, check to see if there is a 120/240switch on the PS and if so, make sure it is in the 120V position, pull the cap off the interconnecting cable and check for broken leads, pull the bottom off the PS and chec
Gentlemen -
I'm still looking for a calibrator for my 2C - any out there?

Gang,
I recently obtained a nice TR-6 and I am in the process of cleaning it. I have tried
(without success to) remove the PA cage. While it was easy to uncouple the extender
shafts, the shafts of the 2 variable capacitors protrude through holes in the cage
thus preventing its removal. I'd
A friend of mine experience the following, does it make any
sense? I don't know much about TR-4's
The AC-4 that came with the TR-4CW will not fire up the TR-4C (the power
won't even come on), and the AC-4 that came with the TR-4C will not power up the
TR-4CWrit.
