Nigel,
Not sure if maybe anyone has answered you yet, but the drill of pulling and
reseating the plug-in boards, along with optionally cleaning and DeOxit-ing the
Molex pins, often cures wierd 7-Line problems.

I dont want to gross you out or anything, but I picked up an old radio

Robert,
Heil makes a "Vintage Goldline" microphone that I think can be bought with
adapters for both the 4 Line Drakes and the TR7. It has the high impedance
transformer already mounted in the mic.
