The peg on my R-4 was pretty much faded-out, too, when I got it 3 years ago...
I touched it up with some matching bright red acrylic paint from my daughter's
old toy box! Worked like a charm...

Testor's has a nice, bright red in their model paint series. You can get it
either brush type in a small bottle or a small spray can. Either way should
last a LONG time and paint lots of these knobs, hi.
