Drakelist,
I have been noticing that my Band crystals are off on several bands on my T4XC.
After checking their freq with a 'sniffer' cable next to the oscillator
circuit, I found the the 40m, 15m, and 10B crystals were way off. I got an
order off to ICM for 40 and 15. I was also wondering wha
Hello the List,
I have been looking for the 4 pin accessory connector(plug) that is used on the
2B and the 4 line receivers. I have been thinking of building accessories for
them and want to plug them in. Does anyone have any idea where they can be
obtained? Looking thru Mouser or Digikey w
I am working on my R4B crystal calibrator and the schematic doesn't show the
two ICs very well, used for counting down the 100 kc crystal frequency. They
are listed as a 923 J-K Flip-flop which are both no longer available. I think
NTE had them as a 9923. Does anyone have the 923 in a better

I have an R4B that in the last 5 or so years has had what I think is excessive
drift in the S-meter zero. I saw a posting from Garey that mentioned checking
and/or replacing V4 or V5. I checked both and they had good emission and no
shorts. When I first turn on the radio, the meter reads arou
Hello List,
Just an update on my T4XC freq tuning problem, I got to the bottom of it when
I opened up the covers. The nylon gears were not aligned properly and were
sometimes missing being meshed. I slid the tuning shaft inward and set up the
alignment for the gears to be meshed as they sho
Hello Drake lovers,
I am dealing with a problem with my T4XC. The frequency disks in the freq
window will not turn or stay calibrated. I thought I had it fixed when I
replaced the plastic bushing with a piece of rubber hose as described in

I have attempted to go to the Hayseedhamfest.com site for info about
replacement caps for my Drake stuff and am having trouble accessing the site.

Yes, they are very expensive NOW. I got a used one for $175 before the price
went up. (Serial number 740) Drake probably didn't make too many of them.
That was back about 35 years ago! I had to do a little work on it but it does
the job well. I don't know what they go for now. "Probably
An update on my R4B's PTO light problem. I got 'inside' and checked Q10 for
proper operation and it appeared OK. I then completely dissessembled the knobs
and front panel to get at the neon bulb. After trying to match the little
metal 'lamp pocket' to my assortment of neon lamps, I got one t
I have an intermittant PTO indicator lamp on my R4B when using it with my T4XC.
It may work all night, then sometimes it will go out and won't come on with
