Hi,
Now that 10 is alive and well, I decided to put the B line (T-4XB, R-4B) on 10.
Hasn't been there in a long time.
The low sensitivity part:
The R-4B has low sensitivity on 10. I do not recall that from 20 some years ago
when I was last on 10 with it.
Using the R-4B to control, the calibr
Hi,
After watching the Drake lobby video I have an R-4C question.
The R-4C shown has an overlay (I think that's what it would be called) for the
preselector scale. Is that a factory item or option? I have seen R-4C's with
and without these. I figured it to be an aftermarket modification. Seeing

Hello Drake fans:
The T-4XC/R-4C combo I recently bought came with the RV-4 external PTO. I don't
know of any use for this other than to pair it with a Drake transceiver. Are
there any other uses for this?
Thanks,
Jim

Hello Fellow Drake fans:
I came home from a recent hamfest with a C line. There were no interconnect
cables. This has been covered before, but I want to verify (and clarify). A
thread dated 12 July 2006 gave me the lengths and the Belden number for the INJ
cable.
Is it only the injection
Well, I screwed that up in a couple spots.
The connectors I cannibalized were 3 pin, not 4 pin.
The metal clad one is indeed Amphenol.
They are for amplifier to AC-4, not T-4XB to AC-4.
Oh, and I made just one, not "a couple". Egad.

I have made a couple of those unobtainable connectors using old 4 pin mic
connectors. Not the 4 pins with the close spacing like a "modern" rig might
use, but older Amphenol or Amphenol connectors.
These connectors have (obviously) 4 pins. Two pins are spaced closer together
than the other t

Max,
I think you will like the B line. I have both the B and C lines. I prefer the B
line. My R-4C has lots of the Sherwood stuff, but those are pretty much wasted
on me and my casual operating style.
I do recommend Garey's (K4OAH) CD to guide you around in the rig.

Hi,
The calibrator in my R-4B likes to sing it out all over the band for a couple
hours until the radio warms up. I found an old thread where the "ricochets from
the shootout at the OK Corral" was mentioned ... and, yes, that is how it
sounds when the tuning knob is spun. Looking at past pleas o
Hello everyone,
I just got a C line to add to my B line. Love this stuff.
The problem:
The relay in the T-4XC will not switch to transmit.
Background:
The T-4XC was working when I got it, althought the switches needed to be
cleaned; I could tell by the meter bouncing around and by noise made i
Hi,
I will be replacing D6, a 1N3194, in my R4-B. Is the 1N4007 a direct
replacement?
Also, the Archives page has a table showing archives from present back to July
2008. Are previous postings listed somewhere? I think I saw something about the
1n4007 in a posting from about 2005, but I cannot
Hi,
I have been trying to use my R4-B/T4X-B lately. A few problems have decided to
show up.
#1-- The R4-B receives on "Standby". This is a new problem this afternoon. This
morning, it behaved as it should.
#2-- The R-4B is suddenly noisey, 60 cycle noise. A capacitor, most likely.
