Are there any articles out there on how to add 160 meters and the WARC bands to
an MN-2000? I really like the tuner and it looks great with the C line stuff,
but the lack of 160 and WARC bands requires me to also have an MN-2700

I set up a vintage station at our club's Field Day this year. Primary was a
Viking Ranger with a 2B. We also used a T4XB/R4B. All was on CW using a
Johnson TR switch for QSK. The entire club made 400 contacts in total
including SSB and digital while 300 out of the 400 of them were made with
Hi All,
I know it's a longshot, but I came across a kit/project that was from Italy for
a DDS VFO for the Drake 4 Line (called the DDS-4). I'd love to find one of
these. If anyone knows of any for sale, I'd be VERY interested. Here is the
manual for it: http://www.nitehawk.com/rasmit/vna_dd
The mesh plate 6EJ7's were mostly made in Europe by Amperex. They are very
good tubes. Sylvania 6EJ7's seem to work well. I have not had good luck
with GE manufactured 6EJ7's. When Rob Sherwood orders 6EJ7's from me he
only wants Sylvania. However, I've had very good luck with the Euro

Hi Folks,
Got another one. I'm trying to use an FS4 with my T4XC. I also have one on my
R4C which works fine. I can't seem to get enough drive from the FS4. I've
simply run a cable from the FS4 to one of the crystal sockets. It works, but
just not enough drive. Anyone else out there inter
Hey All,
Anyone got any spare knobs for the FS-4? One of mine lost the little spun
aluminum insert and it looks awful.

Hi Guys,
I have a C Line and use it mainly on CW. I'd like to be able to use the
transceive mode more than I do. It seems like the CW offset for transceive is
something like 800 to 1000 Hz which is way too high pitched for me. Does
anyone know if you can change the offset down to say 600 or
I had to install a buffer amplifier to drive my digital readout. I lost too
much signal using a Y cable in the INJ circuit, especially on 10 meters. I
couldn't even use transceive on 10 meters. Sherwood sells a buffer
amplifier called a BUF3 which I use to drive the digital readout which is
Hi to the List!
I was wondering if anyone has added additional 2nd IF filters to their R4C
beyond the 3 provided with an external switchbox? I have the 500, 250 and 125
Hz installed in my 3 slots and was kind of wanting to add 1800 Hz or 2100 Hz
for narrower SSB as well. I do have the Sherwoo
Hi Folks,
Well, being a B/C Line man, I've decided to sell my TR7A. Asking price is
$1250 This is a "real" TR7A with s/n of 11,611. It is in good condition with
no known issues. It is nowhere near mint, but really looks nicer than the

Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a little direction with a problem I have with my 2B. It seems
that it is intermittent on 15 and the middle 10 meter band. They share the
same crystal. I've replaced the crystal. I've cleaned the switches. I've
replaced the 6U8 oscillator tube. That worked for a w
Does anyone know if there are any reproduction (or original) SPR4 crystal
labels available. I just picked up a nice SPR4, but most of the labels are
faded.

Anyone have any junker T4XB's they want to sell? Or better yet, just the

even if it is, a small buffer amplifier could compensate.
