Fellow Drake enthusiasts,
Have a couple of Drake filters for sale that can be plugged into the sockets on
the rear panel of the receiver.
1. FL-4000 which is a 4 kc filter used for AM, shortwave listening, or full
fidelity SSB. $75 plus shipping.
2. CF-2K/16 which is a 16 pole, narrow S

The S-Meter being pegged full scale indicates that V5 may not be drawing
it's intended current. I'd start with a close mechanical inspection and
ohmmeter check of R69, and possibly R43, and push on them gently with a
probe. These resistors can often break in half, under overload, and

going through it.
Check the blocking capacitor fron the anode of the previous valve feeding the
volume pot.
It might be shorted.
