Can't speak to the Drake specific unit but I did recently build one for my
Yaesu FT-101. Works great. Installed it in a way so it doesn't effect the
radio's value. Externalized the readout.

Im sure they work well, knowing AADE, but. why? To me, it would be
kind of like putting neon lights and a rear spoiler of a classic Corvette.

I Have an AADE DFD-103 unit and using it with my R-4C, it works great on 80m
and 40m bands... Is eratic on the higher frequencies and, I think that's
because of my programing error... I too have been looking at the blue
flourescent display version to replace the unit that I now have... Cha
