In the coming weeks I plan to put the following Drake equipment on e-bay. Thought I'd give the Drake community the first opportunity.

I am not a Drake enthusiast. Some Drake equipment came to me by way of a fellow who was selling some Collins gear, so I took the Drake as part of the lot. I don't know much about Drake, and don't have the time to get into it.

I posted some photos of this equipment at: http://home.earthlink.net/~k5gs/index.html

TR4CW/RIT

This radio was dirty when I received it and didn't work. I cleaned it out using the usual techniques, Simple Green, DeOx-it, various other electronic spray cleaners. After cleaning the receiver came to life (dirty band switch). The unit cleaned up nicely and will make a good catch for someone into these types of radios. I'd like to get $265 for this radio.

Observations:

- No manual
- The radio powers up and plays well. The receiver seems hot, and sounds great.
- No visible problems: burns, heat related marks or out of place wiring (at least to me)
- All switches and controls feel fine (they were all cleaned )
- Occasionally the 15 meter band is slow to fire up when the rig is first powered up. Probably the xtal, but I don't have time to play with it. Once it's on it seems to stay on.
- I removed each tube, cleaned the pins with a bronze brush, and cleaned the tube sockets themselves
- Transmits on all bands, SSB sounds great, loads up fine, no surprises. About 80 watts out on 20 meters.
- Has 500 cycle CW filter
- Front panel looks great, removed and cleaned by me.
- Cabinet is in pretty good condition, a few light scratches
- Cabinet hardware probably not original, some missing screws

RV4C

This unit was very dirty, with visible corrosion on the chassis. It cleaned up nicely, but I have not tried it under power. I'd like to get $115 for this unit.

Observations:

- No manual
- Detent on rotary switch is missing, if there ever was one.
- The rotary switch wafer is cracked at the mounting rivets. I used my trusty glue gun to reset the wafer and now it's mechanically fine. The switch works well but with no detent (which I assume should be there). In the underside photo the glue is visible on the switch.
- Top of cabinet is scratched and some discoloration.
- The speaker cone had some tears, but the hot glue gun cured that problem.

All equipment is sold "as is" - buyer pays shipping from 80814, your choice of shipping method. I'll split the packing charges (UPS Store) with the buyer if sold off the Reflector. Will ship in 2 boxes.

Thanks,

Gene K5GS
