It is after christmas as well. The european copyright directive
explicitly states it doesnt override the provisions of the reverse
engineering rules except when you are dealing with DRM (in which case it
simultaneously states that you can and you can't) and other bits of UK
law make it simultaneously and conflictingly illegal to use many forms
of DRM (disabled rights laws)
