I'm running an X550 (256MB Saphire) on a 2.6.17.1 kernel, AMD x2 4200+, socket
939 and 3GB of ram. I have the ati drivers from git. (About a week old).
Google earth runs fine, a bit stodgy sometimes, glxinfo reports I have dri
etc, but glxgears exits with a DRM error, and dmesg shows

I was able to compile r300 from Mesa 6.5 but CVS after that and
until now returns:
gcc -c -I. -I../../../../../src/mesa/drivers/dri/common -Iserver
-I../../../../../include -I../../../../../include/GL/internal
-I../../../../../src/mesa -I../../../../../src/mesa/main

Do you have both fglrx and drm modules loaded?!
If yes only one can be activated at time.
