Actually, I found that glXCreateContext was failing with BadAlloc for the last
(or 2nd to last visual) reported by glxinfo.

I installed the new Mesa-6.3. Couldn't install xorg-server-1.3.0.0 with it.
However, games work again. Compositing is still unusable and the glxinfo output
is the same.
