Compilation issue with current development DRM tree

2006-12-27 Thread Joachim Frieben
After checking out the current [2006-12-27] development tree, git clone git://anongit.freedesktop.org/git/mesa/drm , I am still unable to build the kernel modules in drm/linux-core. Compilation fails in drm_stub.c with message /home/build/drm/linux-core/drm_stub.c:51: error: size of

This fits pretty much the 365 FPS at [EMAIL PROTECTED] that I have obtained for my Radeon 7200 PCI. The figures look correct to me. You can significantly increase the frame rate by reducing the color depth to 16bpp. Maybe this explains the reported differences. On the PCI Radeon 7000VE: $ set

Re: is there a fork between drm from DRI and drm from kernel.org?

It's better to just build the required kernel modules. Rebuilding the Linux kernel as a whole is unnecessary, even undesirable. - Make sure that you have configured kernel sources installed. - Checkout DRI. - Goto drm/linux-core. - Type make DRM_MODULES=drm.ko ati.ko or equivalent according to

Strictly speaking, the kernel sources are not required themselves. Just make sure you have the kernel-devel package of your distro installed which provides the necessary header and config files. --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk

There is no need to tweak xorg.cf in order to build experimental DRI drivers. This is easily done in xorg.spec by adding savage to DevelDRIDrivers and setting #define BuildDevelDRIDrivers YES btw, the site is updated ! :) http://sergiomb.no-ip.org/xorg/xorgRC3

Your snapshot is completely outdated. It is from July 2005 whereas we are at 6.8.99.903 right now. This may cause the problems that you are reporting. Try to rebuild the RPM packages using: http://xorg.freedesktop.org/snapshots/xorg-x11-6.8.99.903.tar.bz2 Some patches might have been applied

Right, RC1 and also RC2 build and work flawlessy under FC4 on an IBM ThinkPad T23. Even for Fedora rawhide, RC2 works essentially correctly except for some GL screensaver flicker whereas RC1 is perfect. This is clearly a build problem related to S.B.'s system.

I built xorg-6.9RC2 packages for FC4 based on Mike Harris' earlier monolithic 6.9.x testing packages last week. Everything works perfectly - including GL screensavers and ppracer. Hi, Today, I test chromium, tuxracer and foobillard and none of then runs try to dig with gdb and all stop on
