How about a directory / database of cards and the motherboards / Chipsets that are known to work, preferably with some info on how they were gotten to work eg distro & patches applied. IMHO the biggest problem people seem to have is incompatibilities between chipset and graphics card, and if you can rule that out by seeing that it (your set-up) has worked for someone else and how they got it to work, you'd be more than half-way to a running system.
