The CPU is Celeron 433 mhz.

Latest message was: Jun 15 08:35:41 fede kernel: [drm] mach64_ring_idle

After starting R. to Wolf. it just froze. Syslog "tried" to write
something (but couldn't). When i rebooted and reiserfs replayed the log,
it filled /log/messages with garbage:

Playing a 3D game under windows also hangs up the card after a period of
time (5 minutes to 30 minutes). At work we have 2 more laptops like this
and the all have the same problem (though they can last more time befor
hanging). They freeze with 3D after a while.

Underclocking the rage a bit allowed me to play a 3D game/demo for days
without a problem. These are IMB Thinkpad iSeries 1460 if anyone is
curious.

Thanks! I could try and find more info or try to contact the good old
rage overclocker programer (it's a 1999 util).

Maybe the chip can be slowed down some other way. glxgears never crashes
the system. Complex games do.
