The oops is triggered because I am missing the firmware for
radeon/R700_rlc.bin and
radeon/R600_rlc.bin
However, I think it should be able to deal with this more gracefully.
ATOM BIOS: 9498.11.22.6.0.AS03
[drm] Clocks initialized !
[drm] Detected VRAM RAM=256M, BAR=256M

This looks like an issue I've had related to the backdoor entry hack for
GART_IOMMU – Basically, amd64_agp doesn't utilise module_init or module_exit
when CONFIG_GART_IOMMU is enabled, instead stating:
drivers/char/agp/amd64-ag...@774-775:
/* On AMD64 the PCI driver needs to initialize this
When the agp driver is not compiled in but is build as module, the kernel oopes
on modprobing radeon with modeset=1.

Hi,
I tripped over this KMS(?) bug this morning. I have a Radeon 9550, and the
userspace environment is Fedora 12. The kernel is vanilla 2.6.31.6.
Cheers,
Chris
