in general most chips are supported since XFree86 3.3.6
which is required to run their Linux drivers.

as far as i can see there, XFree86 4.0a is a requirement 
(we are currently apporaching X4.2.0) for their 630 / 540 family
while running TV-out or LCD.

and they are pointing out to http://sss.wuwe.de/XSuSE
for a few other drivers that will run on nearly any
current Linux distribution.
