Hi all,

We're making good progress on 6.4, particularly the larger improvements
that we really want to get into the release rather than making them wait
for DSpace 6.5.

We had earlier anticipated a code freeze of April 14 but I think we need to
push this out again to give time for a bit more polish and testing to the
bigger improvements and some critical fixes, and get them fully reviewed
and merged. So we're probably looking at early May for a code freeze now.

I understand this can be frustrating, especially given 6.3 was a long time
ago, but please bear with! You can check updates and see where volunteer
help is needed at the Status Page on the wiki:
https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+6.4+Release+Status

For those worried about the SHERPA API v2 timing, SHERPA have announced
they're not turning v1 API off until July 31st now, so we should still be
in time for that. (there is a working PR for this improvement already)

Thanks to all the contributors who have submitted reports, code, reviews or
other assistance throughout, and to the release team volunteers who are
doing an excellent job of testing, reviewing and making sure important
fixes make it into the release.

Cheers

Kim
(on behalf of the 6.4 Release Team)
