Alan,

Have you tried running the clean with the Mirage2 flag specified?  I think you 
*need* to specify that flag, otherwise it defaults to ignoring anything related 
to mirage 2.

So, I think you'd need to run:

mvn clean -Dmirage2.on=true

I've just filed an issue related to the Mirage 2 build process. It seems `mvn 
clean` does not remove the Mirage 2 target directory, which leads to old and 
outdated files being copied to the XMLUI themes installation directory. The 
issue is here:

Affects DSpace 6.x and probably 5.x. I would be grateful if someone who 
understands the DSpace build system more than me could look at it.
