Mark Diggory commented on DSRV-5:
---------------------------------

We want to consider that we don't actually need to put this intot he
dspace-services core, but have it available as an addon, it has been placed
into the codebase here:

http://scm.dspace.org/svn/repo/modules/dspace-schedule/trunk/

And should be reusable from that point, we will want to think about where we
manage such jira issues for modules which have a release cycle independent of
dspace-services and dspace itself. (wow, Component versions would make this a
whole lot easier)

> This is a prototype Quartz integration for DSpace Services, It will need
> further work, but is an initial starting point for providing Asynchronous
> Scheduling. We should look also at JMS Messaging Systems and determine if
> there is an analog.
> There needs to be further work done to draft an architecture for clustered
> eventing which may/may not be related to this topic.
> Hey, hey, this is also me trying to JUnit test driven development for once ;-)
> Next steps were to look into creating a few Quartz Jobs that reflected real
> DSpace activities and adding them to another maven project that would be
> dependent on both dspace-services and dspace-api. Then, looking to create an
> XMLUI Aspect that would be used to review, add, delete, schedule, pause and
> restart jobs.
