I am using port 8080 for the backend and port 4000 for the frontend.

In Dspace 7.2, 5 items (communities, collections, articles) are displayed
per page.
Does anyone know how to increase that number to display more items per page?

My problem was solved with the following:
Assign the owner of the /dspace backend installation folder to the tomcat
user:
chown -R tomcat:tomcat /dspace
My Dspace is on a ubuntu 20.04 server and java:
openjdk version "11.0.14.1" 2022-02-08

Being in /dspace/assetstore/
Change the permissions of the directories:
