it seems that you don't have a database connection. You can test it via
'[dspace-dir]/bin/dspace database test'.

Just a quick observation on this. I noticed that you are running the
creation script as user "root". This will only work if you are running
your tomcat as root. If not, you need to run the scripts as the same
user that you use to run tomcat.
