Dorothea,
That would make an excellent contribution. We should consider bringing
it into the XMLUI base template library.

Hey Andrew,
All Dublin Core fields are repeatable. That gets mentioned here and there in
the official DC docs and other places:

Hi Andrew,
Metadata doesn’t quite work this way. There may only be one element defined in
your DC schema, but it can be repeated in an item’s metadata for as many values
as you need.
An item can have as many values for dc.subject.keyword (as well as

I am loading some non-searchable PDFs into my dspace setup. I would like
there to be an HTML version of the article in the item. I presume this will
involve making the item a bundle (i.e. PDF and HTML). My hope is that the
HTML will be searchable. But I dont know how to get the HTML version from

my (limited) understanding is that in DC there is only one subject field. So
what do people do about articles that can be categorised under multiple
subjects? For example, I just entered an article about crystallography. The
subject is chemistry but the subject is also crystallography. What to do?
Thanks, Sue!

Hello,
Now I have started seriously using DSpace I notice that there are many form
buttons you can click but no keyboard accelerators. I wonder how
easy/difficult it would be to add these. Without them I am forced to use the

Good Morning Dspace-Tech!
We are trying out some ways to automate collection and group creation
steps on a development dspace (1.5.1) server here at WSU and have
recently been able to grab the first group that a user in Active
Directory is a memberOf. Since Java is not my native tongue, I was

We've been thinking about it, with an essentially identical use-case in mind.
The problem with one-comm/coll-per-[journal unit] is the overhead

Well, you could add another layer of communities above. Communities
nest. The names of the objects still don't make sense
w.r.t. journals, but you can get the four-tiered structure that you
asked for.
Another approach would be to make issues at the item level and let the

Hi,
Im running DSpace with access restriction set to registered users
only. This means, that accessing communities, collections, items and
bitstreams is limited to specified group.
The problem is, that with DSpace search anyone can see items in the
system, even with access restrictions set. One c

Hello,
I am trying to set up a large number of societies within my DSpace. I have
found how to do it manually but I want to do a bulk creation of around 1500.
For each one I have the name and short description but nothing else (i.e. no
copyright text, no news, no logo). That's ok, it's all I want
