[Dspace-tech] GIT-based development process (WAS: JSPUI Customization)

2010-11-19 Thread Pottinger, Hardy J.
Thanks, Peter, that's a really cool overview of your development process, using GIT! I followed it all the way until the paragraph staring "Going further" where you start to describe dev/staging/production/manager processes, and perhaps it's just that GIT is still totally foreign to me, but it s

Re: [Dspace-tech] JSPUI Customization

2010-11-19 Thread Peter Dietz
Hi, I used to follow the put everything in dspace/modules//... but I found that to be duplicate work, as I would develop the feature in dspace-jspui, then once it was working well, I would copy it to dspace/module/jspui, and clean up dspace-jspui. However, if you have a good VCS/SCM (source code v

[Dspace-tech] DSpace and external authorization control

2010-11-19 Thread Kristian Roberto Salcedo
Hi, Does anyone know if any work has been done on using external authorization systems for controlling user permissions in DSpace? Is it possible (or worth the time) to map external authorization information to the internal authorization mechanisms in DSpace for example...? I've been looking in

[Dspace-tech] OAI-PMH verb List Identifiers disregards disseminability

2010-11-19 Thread Claudia Jürgen
Hi all, while testing a new crosswalk I noted that in DSpace the verb ListIdentifiers + metadataPrefix (mandatory) lists all the items regardless whether they are disseminable or not in this crosswalk. As ListIdentifiers always refers to a certain metadata format this is a bit odd. Sunny greet

[Dspace-tech] XMLUI and filters

2010-11-19 Thread Schaik, L.B. van
Hi all, We are currently upgrading from DSpace 1.3 to Dspace 1.6 xmlui. In 1.3 we have a custom filter to allow users authenticated by another system to directly link to DSpace. The user should not login again in DSpace, because the authentication did already take place in the other system we trus

Hi all, I've seen that solr statistics has Fine-grained stats in dspace, it shows community, collection, item and bitstream views. Now I'm wondering if community views represent the sum of all item/collection views (without counting items twice or more) placed on that community, or they only rep

2010-11-19 Thread Bram Luyten
Hello Börje, good question. There might be a little bit of semantic confusion about the term "handle" in DSpace. Here are the two notions: - For every item in DSpace, a unique external identifier gets generated (aside from the internal id). This id is called a handle. There is no way to disable t

Hello Shaun, the customizations should be in: [dspace-source]/dspace/modules/jspui/src/main/webapp/... to be available during build. During build these do overlay the defaults. After having put your customized jsp's there you got to rebuild and redeploy your application. Hope that helps Claudi
