Hi Timo,
I did some metadata gardening using the CSV bulk editor and as I uploaded
my changes I noticed that the bulk metadata importer added an empty

Hello Craig,
then the problem isn't related to this known upgrade and postgres issue.
Seemed to be from the description of your error.
Any other error messages in the log files?
Hope that helps

Hi Claudia,
Here is an excerpt from the logs regarding re-submitting of items.
Unfortunately, I do not know how to read these logs yet.

We removed some empty metadata fields today. Whilst not a recommended approach,
it's pretty easy. If you look at the logs, DSpace itself does the same thing.
Assuming metadata_field_id is 12345:
delete from metadatavalue where metadata_field_id='12345';
delete from metadatafieldregistry where

I am at a loss on how to use the new command to update the statistics. The

Hi Timo,
Thanks for the update - it will be interesting to hear how your re-import goes.
Since there are no spaces in the CSV (these would, I think, although I've not
had time to confirm it, be translated into empty strings once they get into the
database), I'm not sure what could cause this.
Thanks, Stuart. Looking at your sample, I was able to fix it. I had a blank
ldap.id_field, which the LDAP guy said was correct, but changing it to
ldap.id_field = cn allowed me to log in!

I'm trying to figure out what the config settings
dspace.hostname
dspace.baseUrl
dspace.url
really do. I'm trying to figure out if I can configure a virtual host
to transparently run dspace through apache, without the xmlui path
component or any tomcat port numbers etc.
So far:

Hi,
We are using DSpace 1.6.2 and trying to set up authorizations on the
original bundle. We want all thumbnails and metadata viewable by
anonymous for a particular collection, but we want the actual item we
uploaded (original bundle) to be viewable only by a collection admin.

Hi Stuart,
I am not sure if I did not express myself well. I meant to ask what is the
equivalent of that [dspace]/bin/stat-general in the new command launcher?

Hi,
I am interested in displaying the number of item in a community/collection
when communities/collections are listed on the home page of my dspace
installation. Which directive should I turn on in the dspace.cfg fiel?
