[Dspace-tech] moving to new machine.

2012-05-03 Thread Gene Titus
Greetings, I'm rather new to dspace. I've been tasked with moving a (source) dspace install from one machine in one town, to a different (destination) machine in another town. Both are running 1.7.2. The source dspace is registered with handle.net and let's say has a handle of 4321. The source dsp

Hi Daniel, does your template match="dim:dim"? If not, it's processing DRI, not DIM. I don't see anything obviously wrong with the XSL itself. Can you elaborate on what you're trying to do? Do you have author names stored in one schema and links in another schema? Regards, ~~helix84 ---

The weird thing is that you're matching something with xsl:if and while processing the result you're trying to match something else with xsl:for-each and it doesn't quite make sense. That's why I'm asking what you're trying to achieve. Regards, ~~helix84 --

Hello Daniel, I just tested it shortly but you are in a dim:field node and do some checking (tests). So when you do the for-each loop your are still in the node corresponding to schema dc and element contributor ... to access the other dim:field not (mdschema='myschema') you first need to eleva

Hi Helix84, Yes, the new box will be in a different domain and have a new IP address. I know I'll need to follow update procedures with handle.net. You answered my question about using the same handle prefix on the new machine. Thanks. Another beginner question. When I create the collections on

I think we're talking about different things (or I'm really confused). As I understand it, I have to create the collection on the new dspace before I can import items from the source collection. The act of creating a collection assigns and database ID for that collection. When you create a collecti

[Dspace-tech] Searching Date Ranges in DSpace?

2012-05-03 Thread Ben Mettey
Hello all, I have a quick question. I could not figure out how to search a date range in DSpace, rather than just starting at a past date and looking at everything that has been issued since then. I tried to enter in two dates in the "browse by [Collection] issue date" but it does not appear to wo

OK, let's get terminology straight first. 4321/1 is a handle, where 4321 is the handle prefix and 1 is the handle postfix. In DSpace handles are assigned to communities, collections and items. Then there are also IDs of communities, collections, items etc. in the database - but I believe you didn't

Hi Mark: We may, but we should first determine whether the METsPackager is functioning correctly now. Tim D did the METSPackager work in support of the AIP backup/restore, and I'm pretty sure restoring embargo state was a use-case. As least, it *should* be. Richard On May 3, 2012, at 3:55 P
