I have created a custom submission form for a collection that I have in dspace.
This collection is highly specific and uses custom metadata schema that I have
created as well.
My situation is as follows: I don't have the dc.title field being populated
during the submission process. Instead I ha
indexing occurs whenever something new is created, this seemed to be
the perfect solution.
My only question now is, how did that file not get deleted in the first place?

I am doing a fresh_install of dspace 1.4.1. I have followed the installation
steps and am running into the following problem.
Any time I go to add something, like a new community or collection (these are
the only things I have tried so far) I get and internal server error screen.

I recently upgraded to the 1.5 alpha version of DSpace.
Now, however, I would like to go back to my trusty 1.4.1 version (or 1.4.2
would work too).
I am having a problem with the reindexing process.
When I run /dspace/bin/index-all, I get the following output:
Creating browse index
Indexing all
Thanks. That seemed to do it for me.

This might be a dumb question, but did you add the metadata elements

I have added some custom metadata fields for a collection I have through the
dspace-admin section of my dspace site.
I then wanted to have a custom submission form for that collection. So, editing
the input-forms.xml file and restarting tomcat everything seemed to work.

I have just upgraded to 1.5 (after checking out and building the source). I
also ran the 14-15 sql script on my existing database.
The only visible problem I have run into is when I try to re-index. After
running /dspace/bin/index-all I get the following output:

It worked.
I should have figured that last part out a lot sooner.
I just wanted to thank everyone for their help and support.

That is exactly what I am thinking, but like I said IT knows how they have this
machine set up and I can't seem to find the JDK on my own.
I am currently waiting on them now. I will let you all know what I find out.
Thanks for you suggestions and help so far.

I upgraded to Java 1.5 and am getting the exact same results as before.
Is there any more information I can find and provide in order to help track

I have been trying to build a DSpace 1.5 alpha from the svn repository by
following the steps at
http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Building_DSpace_From_Source
However, I have been unsuccessful. On the step that says to type "mvn package"
I get the build failure message below. I have java version
