Keir. We only use Apache Tomcat as Web server. But I think your command
should work with it's log as well.
Hilton. This is an interesting method. I'm not an expert on SOLR querys.

Here at PUCRS we are using AWStats Log Analyser
(http://awstats.sourceforge.net) to create access reports for our Repository.
It works by analyzing the Dspace Apache Tomcat server logs.
