That was quite unexpected... Dspace Manual clearly states that ".count"
parameter influences only XMLUI but NOT JSPUI! Ususally I take it for
granted and have np doubts about official manuals ;))

in file [dspace]config/spring/api/discovery.xml:
Section "recentSubmissionsConfiguration"
Hi Alex,
I could reproduce and fit it by setting a non-zero value
to "recent.submissions.count" property in dspace.cfg.
The value of this property doesn't have an influence on
XMLUI, so it may be better to change its default value.
