Your message goes in the message area. If you are using a gps and doing dprs
to then you need to put a message in the gps message field. You need to go
to the dprs message calculator website,
http://www.aprs-is.net/DPRSCalc.aspx, to get the appropriate message

IMHO the reasons to run an amplifier on a stock ICOM DStar repeater
module are that your duplexer is poor
