So, mechanism 1, is what I would use if I was trying to reach person
X, in location Y and mechanism 2 would be for general CQ to person
unknonw, in location Y? At least that sounds like what one might

Anyway, I'm going to try and contact the WA7FW B repeater group
today and see if I can

GM Mike,

The G2 Gateway Software is resident in every gateway that I know of
(except in Japan) and uses the UR field in your radio to route calls
to different gateways. To acce
This page shows you the club link and the registration URL ->
http://wa7fw.com (which isn't responding tonight) -- anyway there is
contact information for WA7DAD at
http://fwarc.org/Admin/ClubOfficers/index.htm -- get in contact with
Steve and he should be able to get you through the process.
When you say "register on the gateway" do you mean "registering" as

Mike,
Well, except AK is Alaska, not Arkansas, KL7FF is in Ketchikan, but yes
that's how you would program the radio. Though you need to be
registered on the gateway system to do so - see

Yep! Batteries next on my list. ;-)
Last question for tonight. I'm woefully behind the tech curve on D-

The following was given from the calculator, when I plugged in my

BTW, my battery went dead on my last transmission, so I missed your
last comment. Guess I need an extra battery or two. ;-)

I'm occasionally getting the repeater name scroll across the bottom
of my screen. Is that a local function or is it an indication that
the repeater has sent something to my IC-92AD?
Also, if I check the RX CALL menu selection, I see the repeater name.

That was just a cut and paste error. That's the order he had them
listed on his site, so I just cut and pasted without checking.
I have 444.5625/449.5625 +DUP

something scroll across the bottom of my screen, with the repeater
