I will clear things up here.
Our Internet is fine. This problem has been with us from both
locations when we moved. We use Cable (Modem has been changed out
twice) for our Internet. We have 1.5 Up and 10 MB Down.
We have spent countless hours on the phone with our ISP to ensure we
had the best
I pay for this specific bandwidth.
Yes, tests were run inside the TWC network and outside.
[ED: In trying to help diagnose your problem, people need as much detail as
possible, such as what tests? Only bandwidth, or more detailed analysis.]

As others have said, you know ON THE AVERAGE it is superb, but you
don't know about VOIP/UDP performance (jitter, etc.).
What else are you running on the gateway computer that could steal
CPU cycles and/or add ethernet traffic? (Several folks have wondered
about this.)

Lets see now if that was the problem all along.
I just queried dstar_global: 154 systems have "S" terminals defined.
If this is a problem, many others should experience this issue also.

I can confirm that GB7AU (included in the list) does NOT have the issue
described. Nor, so far as I am aware, does any other UK system listed.

Mine runs quite fine so far on a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM...

Is your webserver on the same machine as your gateway, or does it just
share the IP address and router?

Check to see if the ISP has tos bit 5 set and to what percent. We
normally request 20% of the total BW for VOIP circuits...

How do you know that? What tests confirm this?

What an ISP considers good and what is good for VOIP/Gateway may be two
different things. ISPs often only look at transfer speed (are you getting
an average of 80% or better of the advertised speed for up and down.) You
also need to look at such things as jitter for VOIP.
This all points to some
My suggestion at this point would be look at the router. Similar problems

the guys in Temple occurred every time they connected to another gateway
or a reflector. Finely the router bit the dust. With the bandwidth you are
talking
about this should NOT occur at all. So, look at the router or re

As written this doesn't make sense.
Are you saying you have a cable provider internet

download of 10 mbps? Or you are using separ

This is one connection. I have a business package with TWC.
We have done traceroutes using

I do know having the "S" can come in useful in one TINY little way I
won't go into on the list which only affects 1.2 GHz DD mode, but
otherwise don't see much of a need
If the problem starts to occur a few days after the gateway has been rebooted,
then the suspect would be the gateway is getting busy and is unable to route
the packets in the appropriate amount of time. What do the system performance
tools indicate? Does the processor tend to get busy after a fe
