The very best way if you can do it is to find a developer copy of 8.6 as it's just a normal install CD - if you know anyone who works at a mac software company then they'll probably have one or more lying around... (OT)Does anyone else remember the old developer CDs where Apple were still creativ

It's not like you'd expect. The large shield ring is ground and 24V return. The sleeve of of the inner phone jack is +24V. Tht tip of the inner phone jack appears to be unconnected; at least it has no voltage on it. Who knows, though, it may be used to feed back voltage from the computer f
