I get the same noise with a G3/240, and the noise was also present with the stock cpu. I assumed Apple/IBM did not add anything to filter out the noise the cpu and hard drive make. I'm sure you could find some sort of inline filter to get rid of the noise. No idea where to get one though. -Mar
