I have noticed that my 2400/400/80's upgraded 10G hard drive seems to do a
thermal recalibration every thirty seconds or so (at least I think that's
what it's doing). It makes recording/playing audio impossible without
Disconnect all the power supplies (including the battery) and press the
reset button. Reconnect the battery and PS and restart.

APM Tuner appears to be the solution to a problem I've had on an iBook 466 since
July.

Can two PCMCIA NICs be used in the 2400 to configure it as a router? Anyone
tried this?
It should by all rights work (given software support). Unfortunately
it doesn't seem to, because for some reason the computer will only
recognise one of the network cards at a time - even from Linux it
Sounds like you've tried it, and was wondering what cards you used. Were
they the same or different brands? Maybe if the cards were different and you
had two sets of extensions installed?
Another angle might be a SCSI to ethernet adapter. Anyone got one of these
they might be willing to part
SCSI to ethernet adapter won't work because the 2400's SCSI port is deeply
set into the case. The shape of the adapter won't let a connection be made.

My 2400 is in a dock w/25 pin SCSI on the back. Was there a 25 pin to
ethernet adapter, I wasn't thinking about the HDI port.

Yes. Asante made one. Asante Micro EN/SC I picked mine up at a Computer repair
store for $10.00 of the bargin shelf. I plugs into the SCSI port on my Minidock and
had a power wire that plugs into the 8Din perifferal port

I have a few of them. Asante's the name. Have both EN/SCs and Mini
EN/SCs. Some are AUI, some are RJ45. db25 input. With the software
installed they allow anything SCSI to ethernet. Cool tools. They've
saved my donkey more than once.
