Batteries are still the achilles heel of the 2400c. Fortunately, I managed to get 3 "new" ones but at great expense, over $600 total. MCE still had new ones last summer for $259. I think that BTI found that most failed 2400c batteries were due to failure of the integrated logic board and not the

It seems to me that the RAM limit (112 Meg) and battery problems (1 1/2 hours each) are enough for me to not want to put that kind of money into a 2400c, when the iceBook comes very close to being a better replacement for what you are trying to do. Referb iBook/500's are gong for not a heck of a l

Well, After researching the Sound Jam versus iTunes issue, I've decided that iTunes is the better player for my 2400c OS 8.6 180MHZ/80mb/20gb hd. Now Apple formerly does not support iTunes to be used with 8.6. But iTunes 1.1 (or 1.0) can be patched to do so. All of the information you need or wan

I'm pretty sure it is. The Duos used FPM or EDO SIMMs (in a proprietary package). The 2300, being NuBus as well, would use the same memory. Although you might want to consider using the faster EDO memory in a 2300, since you have no L2 cache. You can usually tell the difference because EDO is
