I removed this battery, thinking it could have a problem--date changes, etc. I checked its voltages, and they were ~3v per cell, for a total of ~6v (no load). Does anyone know what voltage a new battery has? I think this actually is a battery; two ~3v cells, with the midpole also having a tap--erg
