I had a 2300c and also a 280c. When I moved "up" to the 2300 I didn't think there was any speed advantage at all. The only improvement I realized was that I could run PowerPC application. I mostly wanted to be able to sync with my Palm and run the Palm Desktop application as well as email. It's biggest problem is a lack of backside cache. I don't understand why Apple left that out. I have since moved on to a PB1400 with a 400MHz G3 upgrade. Talk about spoiling me rotten. I could never have used the 2300 as a main computer unless I only needed the Mac for word processing. As a graphic artist by trade, I pretty much need the fastest system I can afford...which would pretty much explain why I'm always broke...hmmm. Even this 1400/G3 isn't suitable as my primary computer. -makmac ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
