Apple-Option-Shift-Delete tell the Mac to boot from any System Folder that
is NOT the one declared in Startup Disk.

"D" means to use the internal drive (not helpful to you, but while we're on
the topic of startup key combos.

"N" means to use anything BUT the internal drive

***I might have "N" and "D" confused and reversed

And while I'm on the topic for startup key strokes...

Apple-Option-O-F
Puts you into open firmware. At that point, type "mac-boot" or "shut down"

Apple-Option-P-R
Reset PRAM (and NVRAM if done from a shut down with at least 30 seconds of
off time)

Command
Disable Virtual Memory for this boot (no status message)

Option
Gives you a choice of startup devices on first iBooks and all machines
since.

Command-Option
Rebuild the desktop. (Don't bother holding until the END of the extension
loading sequence - right after the desktop appears)

Control
Invoke Location Manager (must be enabled in Location Manager's prefs)

"C"
Boot off the CD of course!

"T"
FireWire Target Disk Mode (only for machines with FireWire of course)

Caps Lock
Invoke Conflict Catcher (must be installed and enabled in prefs)

Shift
Disables all extensions (a no-brainer, but figured I'd try to make this list
definitive)

That's all I can think of. Please feel free to add more if you know any.

Cheers,

Jay
