I've torn my 2400 down once and sent it twice to DTT for an I/O
board and a CPU
If I sell my 2400/240 instead of getting it repaired and buy one of
the new PB G4's, I lose 7.6.1, 8.6 and all the apps specific to them. I
must upgrade, load and tweak all my apps: hundreds of dollars and days of
my time adjusting a tool instead of using it to make my living. Send it to
DTT.
At that point your best option is a 1st gen Clamshell cause it will
still run 8.6 with the option of X.

I know that, the only reason I still want a Tangerine is that it
matches my Triumph motorcycle. This is admitidly a lot better than a
red wagon.

Just to add my 2 cents, I have used DTT many times
they do good work and have fast turn around.
Great if you don't have the time or technical savy to
repair it yourself.
I use my 2400 daily in my sales job so I needed a
quick fix. Luckily I am in their area so I could drop
off and pick up,

Its extremely cool to grab my laptop and spend the day riding the
twisties and then do my work in the evening at a campsite.
