All true, and all good software suggestions. But I want to mention that
no application will extract audio from a Sony PRD-650, because the
hardware of that drive (which is a portable) doesn't support digital
audio extraction. These days all CD-ROM drives support DAE it but that
was not necessar

SoundApp is free and will extract CD audio. The best choice, however, is
probably Toast Aud
Check out www.tucows.com. They have lots of audio apps. Are you familiar
with Soundjam or Macamp. Soundjam was the original iTunes. Apple bought them
out, I think.
