A little searching and memory jogging shows that those fold-out solar 
panels for Duos were made by Keep It Simple Systems of Helena, 
Montana. They were bought by PowerQwest (which I think is Advanced 
Power Technologies) in 1999. They still sell a line of notebook solar 
power supplies at http://www.powerexperts.com/ , though I think the 
models have been renamed (and presumably refined). They used to use 
Unisolar amorphous panels, but now seem to use the more efficient 
(and more expensive) Kyocera crystalline ones. You could probably 
talk to them about your project, anyway. I chatted via email with one 
of the KISS principals a few years back and found him friendly.
